HI, I'M HOLLY.
I am the founder & face behind HOLLY CAPTURES! As a wedding, elopement & couples photographer, I have a deep passion for documenting days that move slowly, feel close & intimate, & are centered around the divine covenant of marriage.
As a Christian business-owner, I aspire to serve couples in the way Jesus came to serve us - with a heart that loves & eyes that notice the unnoticed.
Your big day is all about YOU... my camera & I are simply here to document it & support you however you need!
MY PHOTOGRAPHY STORY
My journey in photography began in the summer of 2022.
At that point in time, I had my mind set on obtaining an early-childhood teaching certification & become an elementary teaching. And yet, something deep within me was telling me that becoming a school teacher wasn't my forever path...
Honestly, I was incredibly torn about what I wanted to do for the rest of my life - what would support a family & the life I wanted to live, but also provide me with a sense of purpose. I knew wholeheartedly that I saw myself being an entrepreneur & having my own business. I knew I wanted to travel & see the world, & somehow still earn an income while doing so. I knew I had always been an artsy, creative individual. And although I had NO idea what that would look like, I am more than glad I took a leap of faith when I leaned into the creative industry of photography!
Without a doubt, I can say that God has had His hand on this business before I ever even picked up a camera. That same summer, I started offering free photo sessions using a camera my husband already had. I drove around & dropped off flyers at local coffee shops (got my first booking from that which was pretty awesome). Later that summer, I asked my friend & her husband to model a staged elopement shoot just to help me build my portfolio. From that specific shoot, a girl I had previously gone to church with & hadn't spoken to in quite a few years at that point, saw the photos on social media & asked me to photograph her WEDDING. She told me she had this feeling that God wanted her to choose me to photograph it (crazy, I KNOW). But I don't doubt it because that very first wedding opened up the door to exactly where I am now!
Each step of this journey has brought me closer to my dream, & although I still have many goals to achieve, I feel deeply grateful to be able to share this passion with you. Praise be to God!!!

MY WHY
THE PRETTY, THE MESSY, & EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN
As a married gal myself, I am well aware that real relationships are not always 'picture perfect' - apart from what social media might tell you. As an artist, I'm here to create pretty imagery. But as a human, I'm here to tell you that your relationship doesn't have to be perfect to be worthy of being photographed.
Part of being a photographer & business-owner - especially one who works so closely & intimately with couples - has been learning to figure out my 'why'. And my 'why' for why I do what I do is to remind couples to embrace the realness about their love & why their relationship is worthy of being documented, celebrated, & remembered for the rest of time.
I think about it in the same way that God sees us. He doesn't need us to be perfect in order for us to receive His love. And that's the beauty of what marriage is & should reflect every single day... two imperfect beings, together as one divine companionship.
And it's exactly how I want those thinking about booking me to feel - like their relationship doesn't have to be 'perfect' in order to have beautiful, artful photos. Real love is worth being documented!

- watching Gilmore Girls on REPEATTT
LITTLE THINGS ABOUT ME
ALL-TIME FAVORITE TV SHOWS/SERIES:
- Outlander - Did ya ken it's my all-time favorite, Sassenach?
- Lost - I've re-watched it 3 times & still don't actually understand the ending... but I adore the characters.
- From - Like Lost, I still don't fully understand what's going on... but I'm obsessed.
- The Walking Dead - Not a fan of the gore, but the characters kept me attached (Glenn was done so dirty).
- Haunting of Hill House - Creepy, but an excellent, very well-written story.
- Severance - Odd. Weird. I love it.
- The Watcher - Eagerly awaiting the next season...
- Widow's Bay - Unexpectedly hilarious, & still mysteriously wonderful.
- Mindhunter - SAD it got cancelled because it's such an interesting concept.
- Had to save my favorite comfort show for last & no it does not in ANY way fit in with this list... GILMORE GIRLS!!!
